Even in good health With a clear mind I couldn’t read you half the time The missing key to your DNA Flaws our design It takes a minute, one by one, to steal it We’re getting better every passing phase of time A mechanism defend, defend we’ve got this We’re both standing in a bottomless pit So- here’s to another day digging in gold mines You tend to laugh it off all night So stay inside and hide, confide Take a risk, a hit or miss So stay inside forever Fall sweater, tucked beneath your collar It’s getting colder every walk outside this time Less talking, through all the misdirections Thinking of it I don’t seem to feel afraid Here’s to another day living in gold mines You tend to laugh it off all night So stay inside and hide, confide Take a risk, a hit or miss So stay inside forever You tend to laugh if off at night And I seem to feel the same We tend to laugh if off at night so we should feel ashamed Your quiet obsessions are misdirections Character flaws passed down from generations You tend to laugh it off all night So stay inside and hide, confide Take a risk, a hit or miss So stay inside forever

Watch your step, don’t trip and sound the alarm This house of stone is a product of harm (Woah, oh, oh, oh) Stop screaming, you’re dreaming What’s the secret to stop a moment When all seems so clear While were staring at each other through a time difference So old we appear Around us is a peaceful place Don’t try to interrupt this flow like state What’s the meaning of the seasons changing As I stand here Must come out of fear Watch your step, don’t trip and sound the alarm This house of stone is a product of harm (Woah, oh, oh, oh) Stop screaming (hey), you’re dreaming (hey) (Not a problem don’t sweat it) Take a deep breath No escaping now Down a bottle of gin on a merry go round Left good intentions deep in the ground You can dig it back up if it’s yet been found Oh, what’s the secret to stop a moment When all seems so clear Watch your step, don’t trip and sound the alarm This house of stone is a product of harm (Woah, oh, oh, oh) Stop screaming (hey), you’re dreaming (hey) There’s no way back you’ve gotta move on The clock ticks down and drags you along Stop screaming (hey), you’re dreaming (hey) Why do you reflect on memories passed If you could just do it all again What would change if you had one chance You’re better off sleeping Time won’t change and I I won’t wait You’re living like you’re gonna be saved It’s either this life or the grave (Woah, oh, oh, oh) Stop screaming, you’re dreaming Watch your step, don’t trip and sound the alarm This house of stone is a product of harm (Woah, oh, oh, oh) Stop screaming (hey), you’re dreaming (hey) There’s no way back you’ve gotta move on The clock ticks down and drags you along Stop screaming (hey), you’re dreaming (hey)

about

Heirloom arrives October 23rd on Anchor Eighty Four Records.

Dear Youth spent nearly the entirety of 2019 recording ‘Heirloom’ at Room 21 Sound with engineer and producer Sam Guaiana (Silverstein, Like Pacific, Rarity). An undertaking that would see the band commuting from their hometown of Montreal,QB to Toronto,ON to work on what would become their most significant body of work to date. The result of this journey is a 10 song full-length that sees the band exploring who THEY truly are.

“Working on this album for 9 months revealed our creative capabilities,” says guitarist Bredan Pilon. “Our writing process tripled, from writing 5 song EPs to writing 30+ demos was insane to me but we beat our own expectations. We never really knew what our sound was until this album. When you sit down and listen to the album, We never settled on just one vibe which I’m happy about. You gotta be truthful and not kinda play into what people want entirely so as long as you're being truthful, people will relate. One thing I wanted to achieve with this album was creating a crowd connecting vibe and I think we did just that."
